The Perfect Panel. by mbreitweiser The Perfect Panel. by mbreitweiser
Out of the whole book I just finished, only one panel came out absolutely flawless. It might not look like much, but It's what I aspire to do on every shot.

That's the whole point, bud. Less is more. A piece (or panel) doesn't always have to have a lot going on to get an emotional response. Congrats. It's beautiful.

As someone who strives towards nothing but black ink, I am absolutely dumbfounded by this.

i don't know if you're fishing here dude, but really, out of the whole book this is the one panel? i know you're going for that Toth vibe, and this is awesomely simple, but give yourself some credit. you do fine work that brings the readers in and i think you probably nailed more than one panel out of 500.

the landscape is great, the composition is nice and the gesture of the figures is spot on, as for flawless, well no it's not. the standing figures hands are a bit crude and distorted and hands are important. Cap's face (sitting figure) is weak and his mouth doesn't make him look as strong as he really is, even in a moment of doubt or sorrow. he's not charlie brown, he's Captain America.

i like the panel alot, and see what you like about it and i can recall countless toth panels that feel like this, but i think you might have been a tad bit too loose on this one.

just to be clear, i say this out of love and respect for the work that you've created and the artist that you are.

Excellent composition and balance. Shades of Toth.

I believe that it's a lot more difficult to do something good while keeping it simple
